To Read: If I Stay written by Gayle Forman

Every time the commercial for the movie version of the book If I Stay by Gayle Forman is on tv, my daughter says, “It’s a really good story, but be ready to cry. It’s very sad…good, but sad.” She almost had me crying simply by her reaction to the movie trailer, so I’m adding this book to my iPad today. I’ll let you know when I finish it.

Have any of you read it yet? If so, what are your thoughts? Please feel free to share them below. Please warn us if you post spoilers.

      1. Hmmm…I have to say it’s tempting, but I’m a slow read (it could take me weeks) and have too many books already in the queue! How would you classify this book, ’cause there are certain types—curious or not—I already know I won’t end up making time for.

      2. From what I can ascertain,it is an emotional YA book, although the critiques on Goodreads are split. It seems that you either love it completely or don’t like it at all. There’s not a lot of in-between. Personally, I like YA books so I will continue to read it. I, like you, can take a while to finish reading a book but only because I usually have a few books going at the same time, however I’m going to try to finish this read relatively soon. And I completely understand the “too many books in the queue” problem.
